If you’re concerned about one of your team’s wellbeing, think before you reach out. Regardless of your best intentions, approaching them directly may only worsen the situation.
Why? Because while you’re doing your best to assure them that “this is all about you and not your job” they might be sitting there thinking, “Oh my God, I’m going to lose my job.”
If you think that may be the case, get someone else to approach them. Someone they will feel more comfortable with and is confident in having a mental health conversation.
